aCkTiF Group was founded in June 2001 by Robert Taylor and Peter Crofts, both former partners of a big 4 International accounting and consulting practice, to provide personalised service for the needs of particular clients. In August 2009 all our Forensic Accounting services were segregated into aCkTiF Forensic.

Robert and Peter bring significant advisory and operational experience in financial, management, leadership and strategic issues in Australia, the United Kingdom and South East Asia. Most importantly they bring experience in using financial information and the power of organisational culture to implement effective business solutions.

Peter Crofts Peter has practised as a psychologist, lawyer and accountant and brings this wealth of experience to aCkTiF, where he is involved primarily in non-contentious financial investigation and business management issues

Robert is a founding principal of aCkTiF Group and aCkTiF Forensic.

With over 30 years experience in business, Robert has substantial practical business management and leadership experience; and expertise in assessing the financial impacts of compulsory acquisitions.

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London in 1973, Robert transferred to Australia in 1980. He was a partner of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and its antecedent firms from 1983 to his retirement in May 2000, where he was Managing Partner of the Melbourne practice from 1992 to 1994. He was first expatriate Managing Partner of the Deloitte Thailand practice, where he served for 4 years between 1995 and 1998. During that time his firm grew from 250 people to over 600, as he internationalised the practice.

Over the years he had advised clients in matters ranging from computer software, audit, change management and founded the Forensic Accounting practice of the firm in 1987/8.

He has appeared as an expert witness in compulsory acquisition matters in the Magistrate, County, Supreme, Federal and Family Courts, and acted for ASIC, National Crime Authority, clients of major law firms, and Victorian Government enterprises.

He also currently acts as adviser and/or director to a number of fast growing family businesses.
